As a leading fire stopping manufacturer within the UK, we have historically only produced our sealants and adhesives in cartridge packaging – but as a team, we got thinking, if we always do this – what impact will this have on our environment, our future generations, and our rising costs within the construction industry?
As part of our ongoing efforts to reduce our environmental footprint we’re thrilled to announce an exciting change in our packaging for the FS702 Intumastic Fire Resistant Acrylic Sealant. Say hello to our new packaging solution - the 400 ml foils!
From now on, you will be able to purchase, FS702 Intumastic Fire Resistant Acrylic Sealant in a more economical, more environmentally friendly packaging form.
As the construction industry continually seeks more sustainable practices, we are excited to be at the forefront of this change. And, over the next few years, our R&D teams along with the support of our UK manufacturing facilities will be collaborating to reduce waste-to-landfill by 10%, and a major influencing factor, will be the removal of cartridge packaging within the Nullifire range – but don’t worry, this won’t happen overnight, and we will give you plenty of support to ensure a smooth transition.
But, what makes our new foil packs stand out from the traditional cartridges that have been the industry norm for so long?
- More for the same: The 400 ml foil holds approximately 35% more product compared to the standard 310 ml cartridge. Despite sharing the same dimensions as the cartridge, you can now enjoy a higher volume of sealant without any increase in physical size. This means fewer refills and increased efficiency, ultimately saving you time and money.
- Economical and Efficient: The foil packaging features an efficient dispensing mechanism that ensures every bit of the sealant/adhesive is utilised, leaving little to no waste behind. By reducing waste, you not only optimise your consumption but also contribute to a more sustainable construction industry.
- Reduced Waste Disposal: Once completely empty, the foil can be easily crushed down into a compact "slug" that takes up just 5% of the space compared to a traditional cartridge. This results in a remarkable 95% reduction in waste, leading to significant cost savings in disposal.
