The commitment towards protecting both people and buildings from fire takes Nullifire, a brand of Tremco CPG UK, once again one-step further in its fire stopping product offering, with the launch of a new safe space to stop fire spread!
Cavity barriers have been in high demand due to their role and importance in safeguarding buildings. These passive fire protection products are made of fire-resistant materials, and are used to seal cavities, preventing the spread of flames and smoke through spaces within the cavities of the building.
This process slows the spread of a fire, increasing the time people are able to evacuate the building and allowing the fire fighters to get the fire under control on a faster time frame, thus reducing the damage to the building.
New to Nullifire’s fire stopping product portfolio is the following diverse product range:
FV025 and FV050 are ventilated cavity barriers suited to open state cavities of up to 25 mm and 50 mm, offering up to 60 and 120 minutes fire resistance. Their unique graphite expansion technology provides directionality and a high expansion ratio, with low smoke and zero halogen intumescent components.
Also, part of the range is FV125, FV225 and FV144; the large ventilated cavity barriers. These are a specially formulated fire rated mineral fibre with an integral high expansion intumescent seal attached to the leading edge. For cavities up to 450 mm, these can offer up to 180 minutes fire resistance tested in accordance with ASFP TGD19 Guidance.
FV065 is a cavity barrier roll designed to firestop cavities up to 65 mm behind external walls. Suitable for masonry and brickwork external substrates, its roll format allows for space and labour savings.
Lastly, FJ260 Cavity Barrier, is the non-ventilated fire barrier within the range. This product is used for vertical external wall cavities and can achieve up to 120 minutes fire resistance. FJ260 is the only product that has testing with SFS (steel frame system) systems.
These new additions represent an important step in Nullifire’s approach to supplying the complete fire stopping solution, which help support the increasing demands for supply chain efficiencies and certified fire protection solutions.
Nullifire’s Sales Director, Gary Pullinger, states "we continue to build the Nullifire brand and in line with other Tremco CPG brands, offer complete solutions for the external envelope of a building”.
Nullifire’s technical support teams across the UK will be available to provide guidance and answer technical enquiries.
Manufactured within the UK, these new Nullifire products have been tested extensively by third party test houses and fully certified for a range of fire protection needs.

You may be familiar with our new Technical Drawing Details by now and we honestly hope you’re finding these useful. Each of these documents contain a unique reference number, which you might not find very intuitive at first. This number serves as a key point for our Technical team's future interactions, enabling precise communication and problem-solving.
In recent years, the construction industry has faced significant challenges regarding building safety, particularly in the realm of fire protection. The Grenfell Tower tragedy in 2017 exposed critical gaps in building safety regulations and sparked a nationwide call for change.
Polyurethane (PU) products are known to be versatile, innovative and safe – whilst they are used in a variety of applications in construction, packaging, automotive industry and many more – these products are made by reacting diisocyanates and polyols.
